We currently have a small team of dedicated and passionate individuals, with a wide variety of skills and talents.
For the past 10 years our various members have been doing viking reenactment, farming, and traditional crafts. We have traveled all over Europe and America to research reenactment events and historical tourist destinations.
We hope to continue expanding and welcome new members as the project progresses!
Creator and CEO
Avid carpenter, passionate entrepreneur and visionary, Olivier has been creating groups and projects for many years. In 2001 he started a coop for artisans based in Ste-Rose-du-Nord, welcoming a variety of different disciplines to practice their craft together. Today it has evolved into his carpentry business, Les Artisans du Fjord. He also is the front man for Les Bâtards du Nord, a widely acclaimed nordic folk band. Hudon has also started and propelled several festivals in Ste-Rose to prominence, most notably Folk Sale, which ran for 4 years and welcomed over 2,000 people. Other festivals he has helped conceive and organize include Funerail des Beaux Jours, Virage, and Assemblé de Midgard. He also founded and leads the viking reenactment group Aegir, which hosts weekly trainings in viking combat, crafting workshops, and performs at a variety of festivals. He is currently on the Ste-Rose city council. Olivier brings an intense passion to everything he does, works harder than anyone we know, and excels at inspiring others. He continues to drive the project, networking and planning, and most of all, inspiring us all with his vision.

Jeremie Dumont Grant
Director of Operations
Jérémie is a bright and dedicated craftsman, bringing insight, creativity, and intense work ethic to everything he does. Jérémie worked on various theater and film sets, before going to a sailor academy to learn engineering and mechanics for tug boats. He worked on boats while putting himself through woodworking school in Montreal. Several years ago, he also helped found the Vinland Elag, a viking reenactment group in Montreal, and is well known within the reenactment community for his leadership and craftsman skills. Through this community, he discovered Les Artisans du Fjord, and started an apprenticeship there two years ago, learning traditional carpentry and sharing his passion for viking reenactment. Today, Jérémie is recognized as a member of Les Artisans du Fjord, and is an instrumental creative force in developing the business side of Vikingård.
Laurette is a talented and observant seamstress and designer, as well as a loving mother. She studied fashion and design in Paris, and worked for many years as a costume designer for theater productions. She wanted to explore and get her hands a little dirtier, so she came to work on an organic farm in the region of Saguenay, and got pulled into many different projects in the area. She has helped direct and organize several projects with Olivier, including their viking reenactment group, Aegir, and the Midgard Viking Assembly. Laurette has a passion for detail, and has researched other viking villages and archeosites extensively. She continues to advise and guide the team, contributing her research, patience, organizational and creative talents.
